Reading Judeo-Persian Tobit

This video essay contains the first Farsi reading of Judeo-Persian Book of Tobit.  The book was translated from Hebrew to Judeo-Farsi in 15th-16th centuries, to make the biblical story available to Iranian Jews.  The readings are accompanied by images of artwork by contemporary Iranian painter Azita Panahpour and early modern etchings by Rembrandt.

A project of Mahnaz Yousefzadeh.
